Jamu Juice

A sour and tangy combo, this tonic perfect solution for cold or seasonal allergies. Versions of this recipe have been used in Balinese medicine for hundreds of years!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz fresh ginger, unpeeled
  • 2 oz seedless tamarind block
  • 2 tbsp Nurture My Skin blend
  • 1 Liter water
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1.2 c fresh lemon juice

How to make:

1. Soak the ginger in water for 10 minutes. Scrub excess dirt off the root then chop the ginger into quarter sized pieces. Add 1 c of water and the ginger pieces to a blender and blend until smooth.

2. Heat up 1 L on the stove on medium heat. Drop in the tamarind block to make the tamarind concentrate. Add the ginger puree mixture and simmer on low for 20 minutes.

3. Let the mixture cool then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or milk bag.

4. Pour the juice into a pitcher. Add the maple syrup, lemon juice, and Nurture My Skin blend. Mix and enjoy!
